My Internet is not working.
The BellSouth DNS are not working.
I want to find other DNS numbers from other companies.

I need some real DNS entries.

What are your DNS entries if you entered them?

"Can I borrow other DNS entries from MSN, IBM, Sprint, etc. ?
How can I find some DNS entries to borrow?"

The BellSouth DNS entries are shutting my PC's down.

Thanks!

Contact BellSouth for support assistance.
Your issue may be related to damage caused
by hurricane Katrina as BellSouth has a major
switching station located in downtown New Orleans.

When Comcast had their DNS problems a couple months ago, I temporarily
used some public ones at ORSC Public Access DNS Nameservers at
http://support.open-rsc.org/ (although I recorded http://199.166.24.10/
in my Favorites so I could reach them if my DNS server went dead again).
I just tried going to their site and it was unreachable or down. The
web site being unreachable or down does not mean their DNS servers are
also unreachable or down. The public DNS servers they listed at that
time were:

199.166.28.10 (PS0.NS2.VRX.NET) - Atlanta, Ga
199.166.29.3 (nl.public.rootfix.net) - Nederlands
199.166.31.3 (NS1.QUASAR.NET) - Orlando, FL, USA
199.5.157.128 (ASLAN.OPEN-RSC.ORG) - Detroit, MI, USA

These are public DNS servers so there may be reliability problems (i.e.,
up/downtime) but you don't have to pay for them and you aren't stealing
someone else's DNS server resources. Otherwise, do a search at Google
on "public dns nameservers". For example, I found
http://soa.granitecanyon.com/faq.shtml through a Google search.

You could also run your own DNS server, like BIND
(http://www.isc.org/index.pl?/sw/bind/) but not many users are up to
installing, configuring, and maintaining a DNS server.

Actually, there was more than one damaged. I do not know yet if all of
them have been able to be re-entered, but I know they have been working
on them and have gotten some service back. These have been interfering
with 911 service, long distance, internet access and several cell phone
providers across southeast, La.
