Hello!
Today while downloading an game update on Steam I noticed that my internet speed is significantly faster than usual.
The speed according to Windows is of 100 Mbps. However, I usually would download anything with a speed of around anywhere from 7 to maybe 12 Mbps. Sometimes even 20 Mbps but that was very rare.
Today while downloading said update, I would get up to 50 Mbps all of a sudden.
I'm not aware of my contract or ISP service changing anything. I am renting here. so it's not my personal contract. My landlord told me she didn't change anything, other than the bill recently got more expensive, but not because she requested any new services. I presume the increase in the expense was because of inflation.
Perhaps they ISP used to throttle the internet speed? Or maybe the ISP added new capabilities in the service, which in turn made it more expensive? Could they do that without the landlord asking for it?
Could there be any other reason?
