Hello groovieboyjr

To open a .jar file, you should have a corresponding program installed on your PC. Depending on your requirements and type of contents the file has, it can use either Java Runtime Environment or any compression/decompression tool.

If you already have any such program installed on your computer, the simplest way to fix the issue would be to uninstall the program, restart the PC, re-install the program, and restart the computer again.

If that doesn't solve the problem, you can:

> Right-click the .jar file.

> Click Open with.

> Pick your preferred program from the list present in the box that opens up.

> If you can't find the app in the list, scroll down and click More apps to display some more...

> If you can't find the app in the list, scroll down and click More apps to display some more recommended apps.

> If even the new list doesn't have the app of your choice, click the Look for another app on this PC link and manually locate the app you wish to associate the selected file with.

If the above solution fails to work, you can try associating the .jar files to your preferred program manually. To do so:

> Click the Start button.

> Go to Settings.

> Click System.

> Click Default apps from the left pane.

> From the bottom of the right pane, click the Choose default apps by file type link.

> On the next window, from the left list, scroll down and click to select the .jar file type.

> From the right list, pick your preferred program to open this file type.

> Restart the computer if needed.

Feel free to report back if further assistance is needed.

Cheers!! :)
