Hello
I need help in resolving this issue.

Problem :
The letter "a" is not working. I pressed it several times and nothing happened.
However, when i clicked certain letters like " m ", the letter "m" will appear and then the letter "a" keeps on repeating. It will show like this --> "maaaaaaaaaaaaaa"
It will only stop when i click another letter which is not impacted by this problem. The keyboard is built-in and is not an external keyboard.

Troubleshooting done (Windows 10) :
  1. I have tried to uninstall the keyboard at device manager and then restart my laptop
  2. Used windows' troubleshoot to resolve the issue
  3. Ensure that the driver and Windows are updated
  4. Tried cleaning the keyboard
  5. Used sfc /scannow at CMD
None of the solutions worked.

Temporary solution:
Installed the software "KeyTweak" and then disable the letter "a".
The problem is seemed to be resolved as when i typed the impacted letters like "m", the letter "a" no longer appear.

However, I need the letter "a" since it is widely used. So, using the "KeyTweak", i remaped the key "q" into "a". No issue seemed to appear after the tweak.
Is there any other solutions which can permanently resolve this issue?

Limitations:
Don't own an external keyboard

What keyboard?

That often happens is a small bit or bits of foreign material get under the keys if there is any space for them to do so. The specific keys involved will lead you to the chunks for cleaning. Make sure that the computer is off if you use any liquids (like isopropyl alcohol).

It's a keyboard attached to a laptop. I will try to perform a thorough cleaning with the solution during the weekend.

Sounds like you have a laptop.
If cleaning the key does not work, you can usually replace just the keyboard.
What is the make/model of your unit?

Yup, it's a laptop - Asus R500VD-SX402H.
It has been with me for almost 8 years and so far, I have only replaced the screen.

At the moment, I still use it with the temporary solution that I have stated in my first post.

If that fails and you don't want to replace the KB or cannot find one on EBay, you could use a corded or cordless board with USB. I don't like laptop KBs due to my fat fingers, so I use a Logitech G610 mechanical backlit -- it probably has a half million miles of travel on it as it always goes in the suitcase.
