Question my keyboard will not work on bootup any ideas?

I had a fully functioning desktop, when i got a new hard drive about the same model, and put it in along with the working one and when it booted up it wanted me to save changes but i couldn't because my keyboard was not working. so now i tried resetting my bios with the cmos button and that only made it worse now i could not even get in windows and the keyboard still does not work. I tried connecting random jumpers and that did nothing and i can't find an answer to this. i have an hp z200 workstation with 4 gigs of ram and the model numbers for my hard drives are Seagate st980811as, st980313as. I was just trying to install windows 8 on the new drive when this happened please let me know if you have an answer!

Did you remove the new new hd and then try to post up?
