A little repost from my post in The AB Forums...

----

Well, my KickSin has finally reached clvl 85!

I am now wearing all of my (major) endgame equipment.

Helm - Guilluame's Face
Amulet - Atma's Scarab
Weapon - Stormlash (Gimmershred on switch)
Armor - The Gladiator's Bane
Belt - String of Ears
Shield - Stormshield (Tiamat's Rebuke on switch)
Gloves - Dracul's Grasp
Boots - Upgraded Gore Rider
Rings - One rare, one crafted with life/mana leech

I only put one point into BoS and went with 15 in Fade. I thought my
speed would hurt, but my Stormlash with a Shael rune does well enough
to get me the 2nd fastest kicking speed available. With 15 Fade, my
resistances are maxxed at 75/75/75/75 in Hell (also thanks to some
resistance charms). Prior to Stormlash, I had Crescent Moon in a Phase
Blade.

This build had no problems soloing Act V. Baal went down very quickly.
The only close calls I had were with Moon Lords and their super fast
attack speeds when they were Champions or Uniques. In all other
situations a combination of CoS and Mind Blast did a great job.

My weapon switch did fine for PI monsters. Blade Fury did well in both
the CS and WSK 3 where OKs liked to roam.

In short, I think this is the most viable Hell soloing build I've ever
played personally. No elemental problems at all and excellent crowd
control skills.

Highly recommended!

My final point distribution at clvl 85:

Skills

Martial Arts
Dragon Talon - 20 (main attack)
Dragon Claw - 1 (pre req.)
Dragon Tail - 1 (pre req.)
Dragon Flight - 1 (for utility)

Shadow Disciplines
Claw Mastery - 1 (pre req.)
Psychic Hammer - 1 (pre req.)
Burst of Speed - 1
Weapon Block - 1 (pre req.)
Cloak of Shadows - 1
Fade - 15 (for resists and dmg. reduction)
Shadow Warrior - 20
Mind Blast - 5
Venom - 0

Traps
Fire Blast - 6 (for extra Death Sentry shots)
Shock Web - 1 (pre req.)
Blade Sentinal - 1 (pre req.)
Charged Bolt Sentry - 1 (pre req.)
Wake of Fire - 1 (pre req.)
Blade Fury - 1 (pre req.)
Lightning Sentry - 1 (pre req.)
Death Sentry - 15

95 points total.

Do you have access to a Lawbringer weapon? My KickSin used one on her
solo Hell trip. I would be really curious how you compare my approach to
yours.

Once the Decrepify of Lawbringers triggers, Moon Lords are losing their
terror. BTW I have a Holy Freeze merc for even better defense.

Decrepify plus the elemental damage from Lawbringer performed ok against
PIs. They usually have rather low HP anyway. I could go with Shadow
Claws on switch.

Yes, definitely!

My resists were good enough. I could use BoS instead of Fade. Running
around at high speed is even more fun.

I have both a Crescent Moon and Lawbringer in Phase Blades. I tried
them both out, but I think for my particular build, Crescent Moon does
better because of the Death Sentries and the fact that my merc. (Rogue
using WWS) isn't a big killer. I think if I were going pure MA with
DTalon, Lawbringer would be fine.

In retrospect, and Act 2 merc. wouldn't have been so bad. My Rogue is
great for CS and WSK against OKs though.

Stormlash has a decent amount of Lightning dmg I can spam if I'm lazy.
Gimmershred and Tiamat's on switch kills PIs very quickly though.

What type of equipment did you use? I think BoS would have been
viable (and fun for the walk speed). Since I'm using SS and SoE,
phys. reduction is maxxed anyhow, so Fade is just being used for
resists in my case.

Yup 'slain monster rest in peace' is the drawback of Lawbringer. My merc
had an upgraded Kelpie Snare. More dmg than a Rogue maybe, but still not
a big killer - well not compared to the Assassin :).

I switched to Blade Fury for OKs. Lawbringer has ITD once Decrepify has
triggered, so AR isn't a problem here. And the knockback of Sanctuary
helps too.

I meant to convey that I wasn't constantly rezzing my merc. in the CS
because of the IMs... a problem with the Act 2 mercs.

Actually I read those previously and they were definitely some partial
inspiration to build a Kicker myself! I just didn't remember what
equipment you had used! 😛

By the way, what was your skill distribution like? Did you have much
Venom or DS?

17 Dragon Talon (18 for 4 kicks with +1 skill amulett)
Max Venom (just because I didn't know where else to put the points)
16 Shadow Master (last skill to max)
Max Death Sentry (only used against OKs)
2 Burst of Speed (why not just 1? I don't remember :)
1 Blade Fury
1 Dragon Flight (never used)
1 Mind Blast
1 Cloak of Shadows
Rest prerequisites

I could have saved a lot of skill points. Actually just 38 points are
really required:

17 Dragon Talon (18 with +1 skill amulett)
10 Shadow Master (17 with +6 shadow claws on switch and +1 amulett)
1 Blade Fury
1 Burst of Speed
1 Mind Blast
1 Cloak of Shadows
7 prereq

Skill point distribution complete at lvl 39 *g*

Wow, it sounds like you did well with minimal skill points.

I have a Blade Fury/Death Sentry Assassin at clvl 59 that's doing well
too (also using Venom).

It seems that Assassins have all sorts of viable builds that will do
fine in Hell.

A bit of different setup on mine:

Helm - Rare with +2 assassin skills, resist all, faster cast rate, life steal
Amulet - Rare with +2 martial arts and resist all
Weapon - Ethereal Heaven's Light, socketed with two Eth runes
Armour - Duriel's Shell
Belt - IK
Shield - Stormshield
Gloves - Venom Grip
Boots - Gore Rider
Rings - Manald Heal and a rare with some resistances

>My final point distribution at clvl 85:

Mine maxed Venom, Dragon Talon (level 24 with items - 5 kicks), 16 in DS, and
for something different, Shadow Warrior, not Master.

Just to clarify my equipment...

Helm - Guiluame's Face (Um)
Amulet - I have since switched to a +2 Assassin, Life Leech, with some
resists...
Weapon - Stormlash (Shael)
Armor - The Gladiator's Bane (Um)
Shield - Stormshield (P. Diamond)

I also have some MA Charms and Reists charms to bring my DTalon to 24.

I am using a Shadow Warrior as well.

I didn't find a need to put points into Venom, though I might put one
in just for some free damage.

I use a rare life leech ring with resists and another dual leech ring
with some resists.

IMHO, this build can do just fine with shopped equipment.

I found a nice alternate assassin amulet that adds mana steal for mine, so I
may be switching over to a different ring, maybe one with some CTC effects on
it.

How are you finding yours?

Honestly, I'm not convinced it helps that much anyway.

A dual leech ring with resistances? Sweet. Gamble, find, or trade?

>IMHO, this build can do just fine with shopped equipment.

And of course there are "cheap" crushing blow runewords such as Strength and
Black as well.

I added a crossposting on this thread as I know there are at least a couple of
Kicker/Blade Fury players in AGD that don't read AGD2, and they might have
quite different gear/skill setups to post about.

If you don't mind some alternate reading, I've posted my details at
The AB:

http://www.theamazonbasin.com/d2/forums/index.php?showtopic=57357

Hopefully that puts it all on one line...

Crafted actually. I don't think it has resist all, but it has
something... I'll have to look it up and post the exact stats...

I also had another thread in The AB about kicking weapons:

http://www.theamazonbasin.com/d2/forums/index.php?showtopic=57611

Again, one line I hope.
