my lap top says I'm on line in the right lower corner, but when I try to open up chrome or anything else it says no internet

What can I do to get on line. In the lower right corner it says I am connected to the internet, but when I try getting on a web site it says I'm not connected to the internet. How do I fix that so I can use my laptop. THANKS

check under devices are you connected by hard line or wireless. look under network settings make sure dns servers and ip info is check to get the ip and dns server. if someone put in fixed ip and dns info that why you cant get online.

It may be telling you that you are connected to the local network. This is possible without having an Internet connection. Do other devices connect? If this is the only one not connecting then you could try resetting your network adapter. Try turning it off and then on again.
