Hi all

I have a 4 years old DELL XPS 13 9380 laptop which is perfect and the battery is perfect..
There is a problem. When I kept my laptop 2 or 3 weeks switched-off (NOT in sleep, NOT in hibernate, switched-off) for some personal reasons, I noticed that the battery from 8.5 hours (after 4 years the battery was strong), I lost 2 hours, and holds only from 5.5 hours to 6.5 hours.
I updated the bios (becuause I watched videos that if you updated the bios you gain 2 hours in the battery), but no result.
Why my battery, if not charged/used in at least 1.5 days, it loses capacity?

Thanks a lot

Hi. Thanks a lot for the reply.
In final step I am about to buy a new battery.
But, I can tell that my battery was working OK, and is working OK.
That only problem is that I left it switched of a long period of time and it lost 2 hours.
I preserved it too long, because these 4 years I was woron it almost every day, charging and discharging every time util 100% and 10%...
I noticed this when 1 week before 2 years I lost some capacity, and I decided to use it every day.
Now I was out using it 3 weeks, and it fall 2 hours in capacity.

Is there any reason, that loses capacity when the battery is not charging/discharging/used?

Thanks a lot

"Is there any reason, that loses capacity when the battery is not charging/discharging/used?"

Like many products, especially items of a "replacement/replaceable" nature it is not in the manufacturer's financial best interests to have such items last forever.

Cynicism conceded.
