My laptop connects to the internet then loses the connection to the internet and then repeats the same

My laptop is connected via an inbuilt wifi adapter, when I connect it up to the modem via the network and sharing center, I lose connection to the internet but not to the modem. Then it repeats the same, it connects and then loses internet connection. Anyway to fix this?

If you connect with an Ethernet cable does the problem disappear?

Do you live near others (apartment, dorm, town homes)? 2.4GHz is pretty well used up and experiences a lot of interference. Download the free wifi analyzer inSSIDer from HERE and take a look at the networks around you. IN the Network tab it will list all networks by channel and strength. How does your's look?

You can consider a channel change if there are any left, or a move to 5GHZ.
