Question My Laptop Freezes Randomly

Hello there,

My laptop freezes randomly and even the mouse doesn't work. I am not running any high-end software or games, just using the laptop to browse the internet and watch videos on VLC player. Now even during shutting down my laptop, it freezes at the Shutting Down window. Sometimes it displays errors like "Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info and then we'll restart for you. Stop code: DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE. or sometimes "VIDEO DXGKRNL FATAL ERROR"

Make and model of your laptop and it's SKU? Can you check and see what BIOS version you're on at the time of writing? You should also check to see what OS version you're on. We're currently on version 20H2 for Windows 10.

You might want to try and reinstall your GPU drivers. You can locate basic drivers from your laptop's support site but it'd be a good idea to find what the GPU on your laptop is, an Intel iGPU, AMD or Nvidia?
