Well unfortunately laptops cannot distribute heat like a computer can. The laptop has a very small amount of space and limited cooling methods to handle this and as much for 'gaming' as it is, when the gpu is getting put to use on a game it will get hot.
It may be worth grabbing exact temps so we can see how high they are. You can also buy a cooler for it although I am not sure how well they work.
It could just be a defective unit. But try and find out the temps
