Question My laptop has a second blank 256gb ssd in it, what now?

I found out my Thinkpad e15 has a second blank 256gig SSD in it but my laptop does not seem to boot from a ubuntu install usb. What should i do?

is the laptop new/used/upgrade?

check disk management to see exact how many hdd/sdd you got?

it is new it was bought as 512 gig but i found out there are two 256gig ssds and i wanted to install ubuntu 10.10 for a backup but the laptop does not seem to boot from my USB installer is it too old for it? (The ubuntu version)

do you need the laptop for work or school. or you just want to use ubuntu?
