My laptop have 2x4 gb slots but shows only 4gb instead of 8gb

The main problem here is that even though my laptop is able to be upgraded to 8 gb ram, It only recognizes 4gb.
I've checked it and the slots behave in a way that the only recognize 2gb each.
I know it's not an OS problem, since the bios is not recognizing the 8gb in the first place.

Before answering:
-I have 64 bits
-I've upgraded and reset the bios twice
-Both slots are alive
-I have a dedicated GPU
-Ram is compatible
-Advanced settings in bios are enabled but there's nothing for me to do there (as far as I know right now)
-I have right now the 8gb ram installed and recognized as 4gb. It's definitely faster than the previous ones and I've realized the performance has improved a little bit.
-I've had run the windows ram checker but not memtest86

Things I haven't check since I don't know how or can't:
-Basically anything from bios since it's not a very advanced one (InsydeH2O Version 03.72.016.50)

OS and Stuff:
-Win 7 Home Basic 64 bits
-Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU B820 @ 1.70GHz (2 CPUs), ~1.7GHz
-InsydeH2O Version 03.72.016.50
-Toshiba Satellite sp4270rm (L845 series)

I hit a wall. I just cannot find the answer for it even though I've checker various others threads.

I'd be very grateful if someone could help me.

Solution
By "ram is compatible" you forgot to include the make and model of each stick of ram and from the looks of it, I'm assuming they are not identical nor are they of the same make and model. You should be using Memtest86 instead of Windows ram checker. To rule out a faulty stick of ram, it should run for at least 10 passes.

I'll run memtest and see what happens.

Ddr3 4gb 1333mhZ (I just checked)
Both slots have the same ram.
