My laptop HP 15-d005tu is having HDD HGST model htb-tt5sae500(b) 6gb/s with 5400 rpm is not in working condition now can I change this HDD to Toshiba mk5061gsyn with 7200rpm and 3gb/s

Difference I feel between these two model is 4additional pins Toshiba has.can any one help me why this pin is used..will my laptop support this HDD

Yes you can use that Toshiba mk5061gsyn with 7200rpm and 3gb/s with your laptop but I would suggest going for a SSD instead. It will help in speeding up your laptop as well.
