My laptop is not starting dell 1420

Please Help me

I have 1420 inspiron dell laptop purchased in 2008 and OS is WinXP

i have started my laptop it worked for a while then there is sound "tick" "tick" "tick" came and i forcefully shutdown the system. After trying to start it showing power light and battery lights are on and fan sound coming but system can't start up..



Please help me..

Hardrives can make that noise when going out. Try that first. Frys has a 32 gb patriot torqx 2 ssd for $35 after rebate.
