My laptop is very slow and disk showing 100%

I own an ASUS i7 with 4GB RAM and I'm using Windows 10. Lately the my games fps dropped drastically. I did also notice that in my task manager, the disk tab very easily increases. When I click the search bar, it would go to 100% and then go back down. When I played open any app in general it also went to 100% and I have no idea what's causing it.

4GB RAM is too little for Windows to run efficiently. A lot of your disk activity will be pagefile usage. Your statements of the effect being especially noticeable when switching apps is a perfect example. The impact is even worse on a laptop which may have a 5400 RPM disk.

In order to get decent performance from W10, you really shouldn't use less than 8 GB of RAM. Also, as far as your disk showing 100%, your superfetch could be updating stuff in the background among other things. Take a look at this and see if it clarifies some of your issues:
