My laptop keeps on disconecting and it takes a long time to even detect the wifi again

Hi there! So i dropped my laptop accidentally but noticed it was okay, there was no display issues or performance issues. Then I noticed a recurring connection problem, It keeps on disconnecting from the wifi and takes a long time to detect the wifi back again. When it does connect, it slower than usual. Is there a solution to this or should I just get this laptop fixed?

More likely than not, depending on the age of the unit and the type of Wi-Fi adapter is has, it may have simply knocked the wireless card loose inside. Damage to the card is also possible, but I'd check to see if the connection was compromised first. You can google your laptop model and "disassembly" to find a youtube video tutorial on disassembly in order to take it down to the point where access to the Wi-Fi card is possible. On some models it doesn't take much to get to it, on others full disassembly is required. If it has wireless features that are integrated into the system board, then there's not much you can do aside from replacing the system board, if there has been damage.

Another option if you determine that is the case, is to just get an inexpensive wireless usb adaper that plugs into any usb port. You can get one for less than twenty bucks that is no bigger than a wireless usb receiver for a mouse or similar peripheral.

You could also try rebooting the router or by flushing your DNS cache.

Steps to flush:
Open Command Prompt and type: ipconfig /flushdns

How is flushing the DNS cache going to help repair a wireless adapter that began having issues due to a drop? Or maybe dropping the laptop somehow damaged the router? C'mon man. At least TRY to offer suggestions based on the criteria presented by the OP.

Oops, sorry. I Forgot DNS have no relationship with network adapter since it is for DNS issues. Perhaps the Windows Troubleshooter might help. ( Im sorry if this is off-topic again, I am terrible at understanding things ). Navigate to Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Troubleshoot problems > Network Adapter.
