My laptop starts to lock up before I run out of RAM, is the CPU the culprit?

I have an old laptop from 2012, it runs 6 gigs or RAM a Pentium B950 and new Samsung EVO SSD.

Works fine and fast, but if I start opening too many tabs it freezes, I thought this was attributed to RAM, but I looked and even only using 4 gigs or RAM it can lock up, especially on multiple Facebook pages tabs with a few programs running simultaneously.

So I think the problem is the CPU being too slow and not the RAM right?
