Hello,
my Acer Aspire One which has Windows 7 Starter, will not read my USB flash drive. I have even bought a new flash drive to see if it would recognize the new one. It hasn't. How can I get my computer to recognize the flash drive?

Make sure your USB device is plugged in before you do these steps.
Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager -> Click on the Node (+) to open the USB Serial Controller.
Look for your device (i.e. Patriot USB Drive or known as simply 'PATRIOT').
Remove this from the list by right clicking on your mouse, bringing up the short cut menu, left click uninstall.
Take out your USB device and plug it back into the USB port.
Windows will then search and install the USB device again (most likely it will then place the drive in 'Portable Devices' in the Device Manager Window).
Your device should work now.
