my laptop works only when charger is plugged-in. if i unplug the charger windows will shutdown.how can i solve this problem?

Well it sounds like your battery needs replacing. If the battery won't charge, then it can't power the laptop when it is unplugged.

Same thing was happening to my wife's Dell Laptop. Replaced the battery and the problem was gone.
