My league of legends all of a sudden is incredibly laggy

I have a decent computer which used to be able to run league on high. A few patches ago my league would lag a lot and I would be forced to turn down my graphics settings dramatically. I start a game fine but the longer the game progresses the more I lag. Is this a computer overheating issue or something else?

14" WLED Full HD (1920 x 1080)-IPS Anti-Glare Panel

4th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-4700MQ Processor (6M Cache,2.4GHz up to 3.40 GHz)

16GB RAM

750GB HDD

Nvidia GeForce GTX 765M with 2GB Dedicated Graphics

I would say, turn down the AA and AF. Your GPU isn't all that spectacular.

It could be overheating and throttling. Laptops tend to do that, especially if you are playing on a pillow or a bed or blanket.
