I got a replacement stick of ram, it went back up to 8gb of ram but the next day it went back down to 4gb. What can i do about this? Would clearing the cmos do anything to help it?

You could try resetting the CMOS but that might not help.
You are mixing different types of RAM that were not designed to work together.
Even though they look similar they might not be.

What are the models of both RAM modules?
There is 4gb of soldered ram and one that is not soldered. The bios is hard to access with this laptop. You have to do it through windows instead of the lenovo boot logo and 6 mins ago i called lenovo themselves and i will have to send it to lenovo themselves and they will

It is hard to match RAM that is soldered to the motherboard.
You will have to run CPU-Z, click the Memory and SPD tabs to gather as much data as possible about the RAM chips...then try to get a similar module that closely matches the soldered RAM specs.
