Since I updated this laptop to windows 10 it has slowed down quite alot. It's a 2nd gen i3 with 4 gigs of ram and a GT 630m 1gb. All the drivers are up to date but still the laptop runs pretty slow and heats quite alot even while surfing on the web. Any tips? Apart from throwing it out.. All I want is a very basic college usage

in that case i think a memory upgrade to 6 or 8GB or would do you fine since that high memory useage on load

though 8GB or RAM would be nice as it would cut your RAM load down by half from 69% to around 35%

so you dont want to lose drivers... at this point id say mess around with windows settings and optimize it manually to make it runable on your computer like msconfig or windows aero. make the OS 'lighter" and in theory this should make windows more smooth and optimized for your laptop

Ur computer should be fine no need for any upgrade i3 2nd gen is a very capable processor still 4 gigs of ram is enuf for all tasks except video rendering or gaming. Its a software side issue most likely or your processor is thermal throttling check if anything is running in the background that might slow things down check the processes tab in task manager and try to cool ur laptop keep a fan near by make sure air is not blocked
