Question My M.2 with my OS is Locked.

So I recently upgraded my pc, originally i was running a ryzen 5 1600 on a b350 msi carbon, then I bought the ryzen 5 3600 with b450 asus strix MB. Now the m.2 wont work it says its locked I cant reformat it, I also have a 224gb 2.5 ssd and a 2TB reg. harddrive, now if i have them all plugged in only the ssd and the hard drive shows up not the m.2 I downloaded alot of storage programs and nothing works I even went through the cmd prompt and that didnt work Ive tried everything when im on the screen to install windows I cant even delete or format my m.2 any help would be appreciated

Sounds like your M.2 drive is hardware encrypted. Can you still run it on the old hardware?

no not at all the m.2 doesnt even come up in my computer but in the bios its there and when iclick on it to try n load from it all it does is load from my 2.5ssd i am completely stumped

Disk 3 is the m.2 and yes i went through disk management and nothing fixed it..

Has your motherboard been updated to the latest BIOS release?

BIOS Version 3004:
"Fixed a compatibility issue with M.2s when using Ryzen 3000 CPUs."

Since this has already been an issue on these motherboards perhaps you should contact Asus Technical Support on their website to see if they have any idea what the problem is.

update this is what my disk management screen
disk 3 is the m.2 which says read only which is the cause of all my problems
and ive tried deleting disk 3 reformatting I cant touch it lol

What model is the drive? Does it have dedicated software like Samsung Magician?

Have you downloaded Western Digital SSD Dashboard software?

Probably just bad luck, the technology is not perfect. Just contact your retailer or WD customer support for an RMA.
