My mega magnet problem

Hello I have a highly magnetized parts tray and I just found out that my motherboard is dead so here are my two questions
1: could the magnet have killed my cpu?

2: if the magnet killed my motherboard could it have taken my cpu with it?

Did you place the motherboard inside your highly magnetized parts tray? Magnetic fields decrease by the square of the distance (they frop off rapidly) so it was unlikely to affect a component more than 6 inches away.
