Question my mic will not work

i have a hyper-x could 2 my mic will not work but my headphones do. my PC does not see the mic but does see the headphones. i have a Gigabyte - GA-H110M-A Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard and windows 10. I can use it on my phone and it works perfectly.

Your motherboard has separate jacks for audio out and microphone, whereas I believe your headset only has a single "combo" jackplug -- is that correct?
If microphone on headset is not connected by separate cable to the microphone jack, then microphone obviously won't work.

In that case you need an adapter cable to split the combo jackplug into two separate jackplugs.
