My microphone doesn't work after new update

Hello. So I installed this new Win 10 update version 1803 and now when I am trying to speak to my mic it doesn't show up. It doesn't work in TS, Discord, any games but when I do "listen to this device" thing then I can hear myself. Some magic here... It was working perfectly before the update. Some fixes?

My brother had this same issue just now. Can you try: Privacy settings > microphone > Allow apps to access your microphone ON

That fixed it for him at least.

Are you sure that in TS or any other program, the microphone is selected as recording device? It may have been kicked by the application after the update. Try to enable it again

I'm having the exact same problem and allowing apps to access the mic did nothing :/

I'm gunna keep looking for a fix and if I find one I'll be sure to let you know!

Hello !!
I thought it something broke with my laptop after updating Windows to 1803. I am not alone i see.
Same like Pepko when I do "listen to this device" thing then I can hear myself any other method not work. I tried reinstal, uninastall all sound drivers - i can't record by my mic (of course even "listen to this device" is selected)
I tried many microfones on jack plug , on USB plug and mic build in my laptop - not work.
I am use to voip aplication like xlite, 3CX even Skype and all of them shows error like: NO ACCESS TO SOUND CARD.
Before Update 1803 all worked fine!

I tried something and this is it......go to Windows Settings, go to Privacy, on the left click on Microphone, be sure the Allow apps to access your microphone option is turned On. - same for Camera if You have laptop.

NOW is OK - all mic record 100% clear and good 🙂
