[SOLVED] My mission is to input my switch's video to my

So I'm getting my index soon and I will be using a lot of virtual desktop, probably, and I want to input the Nintendo switch to my PC so I can display in on the virtual desktop and make it huuuuge. Please help me figure this out. I'm litterally clueless. IL be doing my own research but litterally anything will help, thanks.

I believe the only way you can input a video stream is through the use of a capture card.

This article has a decent break down of how capture cards work and has a few recommendations for streaming/recording the switch.
