Since this is an aged system, have you experienced the issue while you were on a platform prior to Windows 10? If not then the OS has nothing to do with it but if so then you'd need to throttle down on some settings for example the overclocks os the OS. I would like to bring another matter to light, that is, you didn't mention your chassis, the sort of cooling you have on your CPU and the case in general while you've also forgotten to add the make and model of your PSU.

Please pass them on and perhaps the culprit can be identified and apprehended :)

*Please make sure your BIOS is up to date. You can also try pointing a 120mm fan at the VRM area and see if the temps go down.
