my monitor can't find a signal on my new computer

I built a computer for the first time, and it wont connect to my monitor (it says no signal).I have been looking around and I believe it has to do with bad ram or a bad mother board. I don't want to get rid of a good component if i don't have to. So, if you guys could help me that would be great.

it can be a problem of psu too

just disconnect all the parts and cables and reconnect from the beginning
