My monitor displays only green and blue colours

How old is the computer & Monitor ? Is it a PC ?
Ever cleaned the inside ?
Monitors don't last forever.
Unseat the video card, remove dust, reseat it.

Try another monitor, or hook this one up to different computer ?

Cable or connector issue. Try a new cable first. Also make sure the connections on the monitor and video card are tight and don't have anything stuck in them.

If you wiggle the cable a bit, at either PC or monitor end, does the color come back?
