Hello,

I have a 144hz monitor so I use a displayport cable to connect it to my AMD rx 480 gb graphics card for video games.

Yesterday, turned my pc on as normal and all I have is a completely blue pc screen. When I click the buttons to change to my display input on my monitor it just says no cable detected or no signal.

So I plugged in an HDMI cable and it works perfectly but I'm stuck at 60hz/refresh rate which is pretty bad compared to my normal 144hz.

I figured my displayport cable is bad so I went out and bought a brand new one, two actually. Neither of them work.

I'm wondering if my monitor is faulty or if it's my gpu ?

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Include PSU: make, model, wattage, age, condition.

Disk drives: make, model, capacity, how full?

Things you can do

Look in Reliability History and Event viewer for errors codes etc. that correspond with the times the system blue-screened.

If possible:

Try the monitor and DP cable(s) on another known working computer.

Try another known working DP connected monitor on your computer.

Determine if the problem follows the monitor or stays with your computer.

Manually download the applicable GPU drivers, reinstall and reconfigure.

Run the built in Windows troubleshooters. The trouble shooters may find and fix something.

Corrupted files perhaps: try "sfc /scannow" and "dism".
