My monitor is not working on my graphics card?

Hello there, i bought a new Samsung SMS24A350H monitor and its not working when i plug it into my pc it keeps showing me the floating box, is it because of my GPU? is it old or something? i have nVidia GeForece GT 9500 gpu and its working fine on my old PHILIPS and Acer monitors. Even though, i tried to use multiple monitors (Samaung and philips) but still the same nothing happens when i click on apply from my nvidia contol panel. so what's going on?

One problem that i have had was that even with recent and high end displays they don't always auto detect which port the input is going to.

My first thought would be to have a look at the input settings on the monitor itself.

The settings are all disabled when i click on the settings button.
