My monitor isnt providing sound

so i have this old monitor HP vs17e and i cant hear the sound im connected through VGA the monitor also has a cable with a headphone jack in one end and in the other type that idk in the other end

PD i fixed it i just updated the audio drivers

is there a cable besides the vga that is connected from the speaker output on back of computer to the monitor's line out connector?

there is a cable witha a headphone jack in one nd how do i connect it

the cable should be a male to male that 1 end plugs into the green speaker port on the back of the computer & the other end plugs into the audio-in port of the monitor.

Make sure volume on pc as well as monitor is turned up. Those cables do not fail very often.
