I have a KG251q acer monitor. I tried plugging in hdmi cable and display port cable to see if it was a problem with the cable. They both only display up to 120hz for some reason when the monitor should be able to reach 240 hz.

Solution
Check monitor's internal settings. My Dell is marketed at 165hz, off the box it's 144hz max. I need to go to monitor internal settings and set it to 165 and then I get the 165hz option in the computer.

So please check monitor's internal settings. Hope this helps. Happy gaming.
