My motherboard accidentally broke is this covered by warranty from Amazon?

So I ordered my motherboard from Amazon a few weeks ago. It's an AM4 A320 micro atx motherboard. I tried plugging in a brand new 1TB HDD from Western Digital Blue from Amazon into one of the Sata ports but it was not detected.

I tried pulling it out and it was stuck. I should have let it be but I tried again anyway and the whole plastic socket to plug the SATA port into came off. It revealed some pins. I tried plugging the plastic socket back into the motherboard but was afraid of bending the pins because they are really small.

I don't want to buy a new motherboard but I was wondering if this would come under warranty if I'd send it back to Amazon and get a new one? Or do I have to call the company? I can't send it all the way to the US or wherever the company is based so it would be cheaper to buy a new one but I can't afford another motherboard now. What should I do?

I could try to fix it myself or would it be safe to use the motherboard without using that SATA port? There are other working ports I could try. Still don't know why my hard drive wasn't detected. I had my OS installed on a seperate SSD and the HDD was detected in the BIOS.

Any thoughts on this? Should I return the motherboard?

Amazon mentions accidentally damaged as voiding a manufacturer warranty. Although I don't know what specific warranty you are talking about. If it is one they sell. I'd say you need to read it for your region. As I'm sure the terms vary by country. Odds are that it will be void.

As for using it sans SATA port. It really depends on the damage. As long as none of the pins are touching each other. It'll probably be fine to use the other SATA ports.

As for why it wasn't detected.
- Did you check the BIOS to see if it was there?
- If you have an M.2 SSD. It usually disables one of the SATA ports. Perhaps you chose the wrong one.
- Did you remember to plug it the SATA Power cable as well?
