I recently bought new RAM for my DX48BT2 (X48) motherboard. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145218
when i put it in and took out my 2 GB of memory, i put in the disk for the installation of 64-bit windows 7. none of the 5 hard drives i tried could make it past the installation. i took out the new memory and put the old 2GB back and it works fine again. What could the problem be?

Do i need to change the voltages/timings in the BIOS?

is there a driver or something i need to install?

i put them in the two primary slots, is that right?

thanks a bunch

Did you take a look at the user posts at The Egg?
There was one who had a bad stick, have you tried memtest,or another mobo,
no drivers needed, first 2 slots or, same coloured, check your mobo's manual for all the needed info..:)

There is no obvious reason that they should not work.

Even RAM that is not recognized works.

Try a single stick in the spot your motherboard manual recommends. If that works, confirm just the second stick.

It sounds like you've done everything right. I checked the parts. Your motherboard supports up to 4x2GB of DDR3 so no worries there.

I don't think it should matter but check if there's a BIOS update for your motherboard.
