my motherboard is amd socket but intel fan mount?

that is the motherboard i have,

its an fm2 socket but the fan mount looks like lga 1150. if i want to change the fan/heatsink do i just get a fan that fits lga 1150?

no but generally they are universal with different mounting brackets for different sockets

No if it's FM2 , you need FM2 compatible mounting hardware.

Ive never heard of "FM2 specific" hardware. Im looking around and cant find anything similar to op's issue. All the fm2 boards I see have the typical "amd rectangle" that I can see. O.O

yeah my computer has an HP oem cooler, i have an HP computer and it doesnt have the AMD clamping thing.

It isn't an Intel mounting style so much in that the plastic mounting bracket for most AMD boards just wasn't used. HP tries to do whatever it can get away with to keep you from upgrading. They prefer you just buy a new system.

would an an intel fan fit though.... like a cooler master tx3 which is compatible with LGA 1150

i cant afford a new system now.. i just need to get a new CPU fan

just the distance between the mounting holes. Make sure its square. other wise give me LxW

the mounting look EXACTLY the same... it may look bigger on mine because it is mATX and i just resized the image

It can look the same all it wants, but if the holes are moved 1/10th of an inch apart that would be the difference between an intel mounting and not mounting haha.

I really hate manufacturers and proprietary computer systems. Drives me nuts

Actually, you can just measure the bolts off the top of the mount honestly, that should be sufficient and wont require tearing anything apart xD

Hmm... I have a problem discarding things lol. I have intel boards and mounting brackets. I'll just compare the measurement to the ones I have.

1150 and 1155 have the same size mounting platforms. Basically we're checking to make sure its not a proprietary mount. Should be 75mm if its gonna match intel stuff
