My mouse doesn't turn on when I boot up my computer

My mouse doesn't turn on and neither does my keyboard. I have to restart my computer and the mouse and keyboard turn on . This only happens when I boot up my computer after shutting it down. Its not really a massive problem since it only takes 10-20 seconds longer to boot everything up. However this has only happened since I upgraded to windows 10 the other day.

are your keybaord and mouse plugged into usb3 ports? if they are try them in the usb 2 ports.
