My mouse is acting jittery.

Solution
unless you have a wireless version (product page at corsair.com shows a wired mouse) -- the keyboard should not interfere.

after re-reading the page on corsair.com it seems this does have a 'laser' sensor that can pickup very fine details. So try your mouse with other surfaces. Even the woodgrain from your drawer should work. Just dont use glass or a mirror.
Also make sure the drawer and whatever the mouse sits on is solid and does not move (even a little) .

Next -- you said this started recently. Think back on what changed with your PC, or your desk, or other surroundings.

Lastly - stuff does die, so its possible something inside your mouse failed, or is in the process of failing and an RMA is in order.
it probably has to due with the surface your mouse is on. mice labeled "optical" dont do very well on some surfaces. Get a mousepad with a visible and regular pattern on it -- a grid works the best.

I had similar problems with optical mice on my wood grain desktop, and I had to use a mousepad. Once I switched to a laser mouse, the problems dissapeared.

So this is embarrassing to say but I'm using a boobie mousepad (I'm an anime nerd) on top of a small wood drawer, does anyone know if those tend to make mice jittery? I should also note, the mouse isn't always jittery though. Half the time I'm able to move in a full circle no problem, and the other half of the time it jitters. I tried cleaning dust off my mousepad and underneath my mouse with a tissue, hopefully that will help.

Yes, I tried cleaning under the optical sensor bay, hopefully this will help. Could I also be receiving interference from my keyboard which is close to my mouse? Could that also be causing the jitterness?

Solution
Ok, I'll try calling Corsair tomorrow and see what they have to say. I installed some software yesterday for an emulation modding project, I hope that didn't effect my mouse, everything else on my computer is working fine though.
