My MP3 player will not play in my car usb drive

I have a Sandisk MP3 player and it will not work in my 2012 NIssan Altima's USB port. The device can't be found. It can't find my flash drive either. They say on I Pods can be used, but I don't believe that. It will play in an Aux jack.

It's formatting. If the Altima doesn't recognize the format the MP3 player uses it wont work, hell it might not work just because of the mp3 player itself. As for the flash drive look in your manual and find out what audio formats it accepts through the USB port, then try changing the files on the flash drive to that. It also may not work, I've seen some cars that ONLY work with ipods or iphones.
