My Music that I transferred from CDs keeps on being deleted

I have spent hours ripping with windows media player my CDs to an external hardrive as MP3 files. For each album there was a folder created which contained the MP3 files and some supporting files for the album. Later I then discovered that the MP3 files disapeared but the supporting files are still present

Does anyone have any idea how to solve this issue?

It is a Western Digital my passport hardrive and it is windows 10 64bit.

have you run a full AV scan?

Some media programs (itunes) have an option to move any music added to your music library folder. It could be that at some point, you used a player with the preference set and it moved your tracks.
