My Network Places

I have one branch of your company that just disappears
from My Network Places, all of the computer are simply not
shown and then maybe the next day they are all back for no
apparent reason.

What is responsible for displaying these computers in My
Network Places?

The computers are reachable if you know the IP or NetBios
name, but why are they disappearing?

Really appreciate some help on this one!

Is this branch in the same domain?
Have you verified WINS replication partners are configured?

The Browse masters and Domain Master Browser for your
domain(s).

All of your Master Browsers (all potential browsers really)
must be able to find the "Domain Master Browser" (PDC or
PDC Emulator) for their own domain.

All Domain Master Browsers must be able to find each other.

That's how the lists get exchanged.

Browsing is separate from name resolution. You can have
browsing working, and name resolution broken or vice versa.

You need WINS server(s) if you have more than one subnet
or more than one domain across which you wish to browse.

ALL Windows machines (potential browsers) must specify
this WINS server (set) in their NIC properties or through
DHCP.

If you have more than one WINS server they must all
replicate -- which is your job to setup manually.

Browsing is still a NetBIOS legacy application.
