My network stops working when I connect my laptop

My friend asked me this so what I say is all the details I got, he said when he starts his new Sony Vaio laptop is wireless internet shuts on and off a lot, when he turns the laptop off the network works fine, his friends come over and use his network and everything works fine but when he turns on his Sony Vaio, everyone elses connections get screwed up. He has a linksys router and thats really all I know. Any advice on what might be the problem?

If the Sony has been used with Windows Internet Connection Sharing, the IP address will be upsetting the network. Disable ICS.
