I have a i7 9700k that I just bought on Black Friday that is paired with the rog strix z390-e gaming motherboard(supposedly highly capable of overclocking). I followed several walkthroughs to overclock. I changed all the settings I was told. I don’t get what I’m missing it just will not change even to 3.7, which I tried after failing any frequency above that. I’m not using any overclocking profiles that are offered I’m trying to do this stuff on my own but nothing is working please help.

Question My new 9700k will not overclock, it is stuck at 3.6ghz. Is there any way to fix this?

Yes it is the latest bios. It is like it completely ignores the overclock settings and stays at stock so no overclock at all. It boots fine as it should at 3.6 ghz I haven’t even been able to put it in a situation where it would be unstable or fail to boot.

Cooler: h100i pro
MOBO: asus rog strix z390-e gaming
GPU: rog 2080 super strix
RAM: 16gb Trident z at 3200
Storage: 2tb Hdd 500gb ssd
