Hello there. I recently joined the community here at tom's hardware. I'm thinking of builsding a pc and I have been looking for several weeks about what could be a good one for me since I already have the CPU. I came up with this Build. I just would like to know what do you guys think and if you have any suggestion.

Thank you in advance :)

For build i mean a set of the components for the pc. The link is in the post (just click on "this build"). I was thinking of something around 1000$. Take into consideration that I already have the CPU, so the budged does not include that.

The most demanding task will be probably gaming on it. Occasionally I use a 3D software for chemistry, but probably nothing more demanding than gaming.

Well, why did u change those? And another thing is that I really want to have the cpu water cooling system, that's something that I would definitely appreciate. Why do you think that motherboard is better and do you think I should go for more RAM?
Thank you for your help and patience :)

Also did u pick this ram because you think that 2666 is too much or just because you think G.Skill is better overall?

Allow me to explain.
-First of all, you only really need that watercooling if you are going to be overclocking by...I'd say more than 3 or 4 Ghz. Now, if that is what you will be doing, then by all means, go for it. If not, air cooling should be sufficient.
-As for that mobo, it is nearly the same except for the fact that you can have up to 128gb of RAM and up to 3 way SLI. Now, that really shouldn't mean anything to you. I doubt you will have 3 980's in SLI, but that's up for you to decide.
-Now, the question of "Should I add more RAM?" This should only be a concern if you will be doing heavy multitasking, and at that point it may be time for an upgrade to 32 gigs. But as of now, 16 gigs is more than enough for gaming.

So that's about it. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.

I just have had great experiences with G.SKILL. They have very cheap, and pretty nice RAM kits. The extra timing really isn't needed, you won't be able to literally notice it.

That sounds all great and, to be honest, I just checked the mobo and it really looks like a better solution. On the other side I know the fact that air cooling is better, but I really want to build water cooling for my first time and I really want to get into overclocking a bit, not extreme, but I just want to start learning about that. This are the reasons why I really want to go for a water cooled CPU (GPU I think is really superfluous and also a bit expensive). In case, which water cooling system and case would you suggest? ( I know i looks dumb, but it's just a thing :p )

Actually, water>air cooling and it looks quite nice. (My opinion on looks.) However, the h110i is a pretty solid choice, I'd say. A nice case to house that would be maybe an s340, h440, or Enthoo Luxe/Pro. I am currently using an enthoo luxe and it works like a dream. But that's up for you to decide.

Yeah, I'll go for the h110i, everywhere I go it's said to be the best for around that price. I'll look into the cases for a bit tho, I have time till I'll be ready for that. Just one last question, kinda unrelated.
Thank you very much for your help, if you're interested I'll keep u updated on the project.
