Overall, not bad at all for the first build.
for such a system, I'd suggest:
1. definitely case with better airflow - Fractal Design Meshify C would be an example.
2. bit better cooler wouldn't hurt to keep things quieter
3. if you don't have the PSU already, there are better options.
4. if you want to wait a few days, a B360 based motherboard would be more appropriate (and a bit cheaper) for this build, but there is nothing wrong with this MB.

Also, if you are going with the Z370, why not step it up to the k version of that chip. The 8700 is a really good chip, but if you want to make use of the features, pick up an 8700k. Allows you to OC. Or you can wait some time to buy a Hxxx or Bxxx series motherboard for a chip to save costs.

OK, ive just given a best solution by mistake -.- sorry... (can a mod change that?)

I already have the case and PCU from a PC I slapped together a few years back, but after your replies I'll definitely be upgrading the case.

I also have the cooler but can be returned no problem at all.

I was going with the 8700 over the 8700k because I have no plans to OC at all if I'm honest as I'm still very much a novice.

I'll look at getting a different mobo as well.

Thanks guys I appreciate the help!

EDIT - I've got rid of the best solution :)

Swap the components or get the components you don't have yet from the above list.
I know you don't plan on to OC for now but having i7-8700K will give you better performance and headroom for OC wwhen you become confident enough. No loss in having options instead of being limited on a long run.
