I'm not entirely sure - I've never tried this - but I think it could work the same way NVIDIA's PhysX technology does where you can use a newer card with an older card to get better performance. In order to use Crossfire to its' fullest both cards have to be exactly the same - doesn't have to be the same brand (but it helps) - but they have to be the same model and similar in design.

I'm definitely going to second these recommendations.

16GB isn't needed for a gaming system - and the extra fans are pretty worthless - you're better putting that money into upgrading your GPU to a Radeon 7850: http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?cid=1&gid=3&sgid=1160&pid=1472&psn=000101

You could also drop the SSD to 64GB and upgrade the video card to a 7870: http://www.sapphiretech.com/images/product/gallery/1473/1473_hot_product_new.jpg

All the case mods, extra lighting - that kind of crap to me is pointless and you're just throwing your money away. Get the best GPU that you can get for your budget first - that is the most important part of any build bar none after the PSU. Do not skimp or compromise in this area to get pointless case modifications - you can always get that stuff later. I cannot stress the importance of a good GPU enough.

I agree with g-unit. Performance parts now, then later down the line when you have some spare change make it look fancy. i would go with the parts geekapproved recommended for sure, the 60 bucks you save on the board put towards a better gpu and you'll be set! good luck brother.

The only reason you'd want onboard video is because it's extremely helpful in diagnosing GPU problems. I agree that you'll most likely wont need it but the Z68 chipset is a lot newer and will take advantage of newer hardware including Ivy, PCI 3.0 video cards (7870), USB 3.0, eSATA, 3TB hard drives, you name it.

There is no onboard video, it's on cpu video, which you can't utilize with P67. What if your graphics card fails, how will you use your computer while you rma?

There is many other reasons, maybe you should do some research.
