My new ddr1 ram is not working

I am having a problem with my new transcend JM388D643A-5L DDR1 RAM.
I recently buy a new one but its not working in my Intel D915GVWB Motherboard.
According to the "http://www.gobeyond.net/INTEL/D915GVWB/D915GVWB.html" site its competitive to my pc.

if you know how to solve this please tell me.

Well its a 64Mx8 DDr400 chip which intel says is supported. Your board only supports up to 4gb, you're not exceeding that limit with this stick of ram are you?

I HAVE ONLY 512 RAM IN MY PC. I BOUGHT THIS 1 GB DDR1 RAM.

yes i tried with an withouT 512mb ram.
i have four slots for ram.
i tried it in all the slots one by one but its not working.
there is some software for it or not??
