Question My new HHD won’t initialise and my display on my monitor goes black when I check the connections

I recently bought a 4TB Seagate Barracuda HHD, however, when I go to initialise it. A I/O error pops up and when I searched it up on google a lot of them said check connections so I did that and then my display went black and the vga light came on. It’s getting really annoying so if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated!

sound like you unplug something when you "check connections"

Check the SATA cable. If you have a spare one. I would swap it out to rule out the cable.
